Beijing

Day 1, Sunday, June 1, 2008- New York City - departure

Day 2 - Mon. June 2, 2008 - Beijing, CHINA (D)(click here)
Upon arrival in Beijing, you would be welcomed by our representatives and then transfer to Beijing International Hotel
Buffet style Welcome Dinner would be arranged at the hotel

Day 3 - Tues. June 3, 2008 - Beijing (B, L, D)(click here)
In the morning, in a hotel conference room, our national representative would present you In Country Briefing as an orientation about China. This is followed by a Professional Overview about the Chinese medical care delivery system and the Chinese education system.

Lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon visit to the Forbidden City. Dinner would be provided before Peking Opera at the Liyuan Theater.
Guest program in the morning: Beijing Urban Planning Exhibition Center  

Day 4 - Wed. June 4, 2008 - Beijing (B, L, D)(click here)
Spend the morning at a local Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Hospital to learn TCM as an alternative medical option. Educators will visit Beijing Normal University. Working lunch with some Chinese counterparts invited to continue the exchange in an informal way.

Afternoon visit to the old community of Beijing where you would enjoy a paddy cab ride in the zigzagging lines. You would also be invited by a local family to their home as their guests; there you can get interaction with local people.

Day 5 - Thurs. June 5, 2008 - Beijing (B, L)(click here)
Morning venture on the Great Wall at Badaling section
Lunch at Dayi restaurant
Afternoon visit to the Summer Palace
Dinner open

Day 6 - Fri. June 6, 2008- Beijing to Xi'an (B, L, D)(click here)
Morning visit to the Temple of Heaven and Tiananmen Square.
Lunch at local restaurant Take an afternoon flight to Xian.
Check into Xian Grand Hyatt Hotel for a short rest before going out for the Dumpling Banquet where you will enjoy over 16 courses of different dumplings besides regular courses.

Day 7 - Sat. June 7, 2008 - Xi'an (B, L)(click here)
Morning visit to the Small Wild Goose Pagoda which is a 1200-year-old Buddhism temple. Lunch at the Terra Cotta Warriors Museum restaurant. 
Afternoon visit to the Terra Cotta Warriors Museum, on the way back to the city, visit a Herbal Medicine Market which is one of the largest in China
Delegates would have this evening open to explore in the city, dinner on own.

Day 8 - Sun. June 8, 2008 - Xi'an (B, L, D)(click here)
Morning visit to the Great Mosque.  
Afternoon visit to the 600-year-old City Wall which is one of the only two left in China. You could walk or cycle on a bike on the top of the wall.
Rest in the hotel for an hour before the Tang Dynasty dinner & show tonight.

Day 9 - Mon. June 9, 2008- XI’an to Guilin (B, L, D)(click here)
Check out of the hotel in the morning,. Professional meeting at a general Xi’an North Hospital .Educators will visit Shaanxi No.10 Textile Factory Middle School
Lunch will be provided at local restaurant
Depart for the airport from the restaurant for your flight to Guilin. Upon arrival,
Check into Guilin Sheraton Hotel. Dinner at local restaurant. Enjoy a foot massage based on TCM reflexology

Guilin

Day 10- Tues. June 10, 2008 - Guilin (B, L, D)(click here)
Check out of Sheraton hotel. We are coming back to the same hotel so we may be able to leave some luggage here. Depart the city in the morning for a 4-hour-long cruise on the Li River-a main tributary to the Pearl River. Get disembarked at the small town of Yangshuo.

Check into Paradesa Yangshuo Resort for a short rest

Lunch on board the ship, and dinner will be at a local restaurant

Enjoy the outdoor performance of Impression of Liu sanjie

Day 11 - Wed. June 11, 2008 - Guilin (B, L)(click here)
Morning travel back to Guilin for a visit to Reed Flute Cave.

After lunch in Guilin city, We will travel to Linchuan County for interaction with some local farmers, you will visit the village clinic and find out some of the medical issues that are still faced by the rural population in China. Educators will visit a rural school.

Then check into Guilin Sheraton Hotel and enjoy the rest of the open night, dinner will be on your own arrangement with options provided.

Day 12 - Thurs. June 12, 2008 - Guilin to Shanghai (B, L, D)(click here)
Take a late morning flight to the most dynamic Chinese city-Shanghai
Lunch on board the flight
Afternoon visit to the Bund  
Check into New World Mayfare Hotel for a short rest
Dinner included before fabulous acrobatic show

 

Shanghai

Day 13 - Fri. June 13, 2008 - Shanghai   (B, L, D)(click here)

Full day cultural program including visits to the Yu Garden & Old Town. Lunch included at local Dim Sum Restaurant. 
Afternoon visit to the Shanghai Museum.
Farewell banquet

 

Day 14 - Sat. June 14, 2008 - Shanghai to Beijing to New York City (B)
